Only yesterday was a Melbourne school shut down after a student was diagnosed with coronavirus just a week after a teacher from the same school returned a positive result.
Keilor Downs College, in the city's north-west, will undergo a deep clean with staff and pupils who came in close contact with the year 11 student on Tuesday ordered to self-isolate.
Keilor Downs College will close today for the usual and routine purposes of contact tracing, identifying exactly who are close contacts and ensuring that those close contacts are quarantined.
On the other side of the ditch, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said: “I do want to emphasise that with so few cases in New Zealand schools and early learning services are safe environments for children and young people and staff".
